Steel
plate has a thickness 3/16 inch or greater and a width of 9 inches or
greater. Plate is designated by its thickness and
width, e.g., PL 1/2 x 18.
With its lug pattern,
floor
plate provides some traction where surfaces are kept
reasonably dry. It can be easily sheared, punched, or
formed with conventional fabricating equipment. Thickness
of floor plate is determined exclusive of the projecting
lugs.
